23rd April 2024
We had an awesome night at the Carlton Hotel in Forres, launching our album "Not Broken" with The Phoenix Hub.
Thanks to everyone who came and the kind words The Phoenix Hub wrote after the event.

"The electrifying energy of IWTYH lit up the Carlton Hotel...an unforgettable evening. Every moment was a hit, from the heart pumping beats, to the crowds roaring enthusiasm.
Meet the hometown heroes of IWTYH : Dave Martin, Steve Simms and DJ Butterscotch - this trio is not just about the beats and the rhythms, they are woven into our local communities music and social scenes".  Thanks PMH.

We also just got sent this great article by Mi
ck Fletcher from his blog Just Some Punk Songs today and he will be playing us on his show Sunday. Our album "Not Broken" is now available in record shops and online.

"I Will Take You Hunting impressed me a couple of years ago when they released their 2nd album Don't go to bed mad, stay up and fight all night, a song from which I highlighted here : https://justsomepunksongs.blogspot.com/2022/05/i-will-take-you-hunting-stop-rot.html

Now they're back with album number 3 and it's another powerful sonic assault. It's titled Not Broken and it's available on vinyl from Last Night From Glasgow :   https://shop.lastnightfromglasgow.com/products/i-will-take-you-hunting-not-broken-vinyl-lp

It's described as "a fabulous blend of hardcore punk, electronic, indie rock, dance and hip hop. For fans of bands like Upchuck, Turnstile, IDLES and Viagra Boys"and I can't disagree with that. The line up of Dave Martin (guitars/drums/synths/shouting), Steve Simms (vocals/lyrics/ Melodies) and DJ Butterscotch (Scratching/Sampling) certainly know how to kick up a racket.

It's also available on cd and digital download :    https://iwilltakeyouhunting.bandcamp.com/album/not-broken

It's a band that are certainly still very much recognizable from the one that released those 2 earlier albums but the addition of DJ Butterscotch has added a little more playfulness to their sound. Case in point, check out No Gods...

Thanks to everyone who has listened to the album and bought it.

The diary is filling up nicely, for gigs, with others TBC.
The vinyl version  of the album, "Not Broken", is being distributed to record shops and people have started receiving their preordered copies and the feedback has been phenomenal. Thanks to everyones for their kind words, we are humbled.
Instagrammer Dan Jones (punkrock_vinyl) said "Doubt I will be taking it off for my turntable for a while, its very good". Thanks Dan.

Our album launch is on the 20th April 2024, at The Carlton Hotel, in our home town  Forres. Tickets are limited to 100 and we have nearly sold 30%, again thanks to everyone supporting us. (tickets available at Forres Tattoo Shop and The Carlton).

28th February 2024
We have our first review of the new album, by Nate Goyer from the Vinyl Guide. It made us humble, chastised and laugh. Thanks Nate.

"I fucking HATE writing music reviews. Jesus, who reads these anyway?

And of those people who read music reviews, how many among them actually take the recommendations onboard and get the record?

It’s an exercise in futility. Nothing good can come of it.

But let’s pretend you’re the exception. You, the reader, are going to take onboard what I say in these paragraphs, get off your ass and get the new “I Will Take You Hunting” LP.

Fat chance but I’ll let you prove me wrong.

Two weeks ago I went to my postbox and inside was a woefully flimsy cardboard mailer with a vinyl test pressing inside. The label was from Scotland. I’m in Australia. That’s literally the opposite side of the world. This package couldn’t have travelled a further distance. And the rocket scientist who packed it couldn’t have prepared it worse for the journey. The fact it arrived in a playable state is a credit to the global postal service who somehow didn’t make the effort to snap the record in half somewhere on its journey.

But fucking hell, it’s here, let’s play it.

Immediately I’m drawn in. I’m always game to hear something fast and aggressive and this album ticks those boxes with a permanent sharpie. It’s smart – not slapdash – there’s a quality element to it; a caring and attention to detail that makes the difference between another punk band and something that can be really great. Songs are varied and sequencing is good. It’s an adventure. This band has somehow defied my preconceived scepticism and won me over.

By the way, I should clarify the package ONLY contained a record – no sleeve or lyrics or anything. It had the identity of a ransom note so I don’t know the names of songs or anything beyond the lyrics I can make out. That’s not a bad thing tho – I’m hearing what I want to hear so it’s like the record is talking to me.

Before this day I hadn’t heard of “I Will Take You Hunting”. Now, I’ve listened maybe 6-7 times. I keep flipping the record over, playing each side, then starting again. A solid record that will exceed most everyone’s expectations. The band is fun – promising in a way that makes me want to keep an eye out for them and hope beyond reason they’ll play in Australia one day. But until then, we’ll have to order their records and enjoy them remotely. Let’s hope they get as good at packaging records as they are at making them."

2nd February 2024

We can announce a release date of our new album "Not Broken",
on the 19th April 2024 on Dick Record and
distributed / promoted through Last Night From Glasgow.

We are truly humbled and  delighted to announce that an anonymous,
benefactor has financed our new release,
they love what we are doing and that means,we love them....

Seriously though, that hybrid punk sound has evolved,
pulling in more electronic and possibly a dance element.
Still hard, heavy 'n' humble.
DJ Butterscotch adds a new dynamism,
that has to be seen and heard to believe.

The tunes on the new album include -
When you're at war with the dance floor,
Junk, No Gods No Masters,
Creepy Little thing Want Love,
Rain, No I in Team, No Regrets, Not Broken,
These Clouds,
Jesus Is My Airbag & Rabbit.

It will be available on cd/ download and a limited run of vinyl.
We are currently booking up the diary for gigs,
don't be shy if you fancy an appearance from IWTYH.
.

11th August 2023
A busy month for IWTYH with the addition of a 3rd band member,  DJ ButterScotch. DJ Butterscotch is a pro level scratch DJ, and we are honoured to welcome him to our chaos.
He has had more gigs than practices at this time with us. Thats how good he is!  He joined us for 2 gigs at Belladrum 2023 on the Burke N Hair stage and most recently at Bannermans in Edinburgh on 9th August for a sold out headline slot. It feels right and the tunes will only get better with his vibe in the mix.

18th July 2023
We are at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, on the Burke N Hare stage, at 10pm (28th & 29th July). We also have     a gig in Edinburgh in August TBA, plus other gigs bubbling up. Good times! Here is an        interview     with IGIGS that we did this week about us & the festival.

9th May 2023
Hi all you lovely people, hows it going?.
We have just played our first gig of the year, after a small hiatus, due to personal problems.
We haven't stopped writing though. So last Saturday we played, with the awesome Cundeez / The Signal & The Fragz, in support of food banks..
It was sold out and we are still buzzing. Boydie from Peat & Diesel got up onstage, for a turn at, the end of the evening with the Cundeez.
Next up we are working on more shows and our 3rd album. Our new EP "Weaponise Yourself," has just been released on BANDCAMP.
Watch this space & take care. See ya soon!

  • We have a review of our last gig on the 26th Feb 2022

"Two piece grunge-punk duo I Will Take You Hunting kicked off the night by breaking the ice and splitting our sides. With their quick-wittedness, one-on-one banter and insane facial contortions, IWTYH put on a show that we can only describe as
“feel good anarchy”....READ MORE.

We have also been getting a phenomenal amount of radio play on
AMAZING RADIO              both in the UK and USA.
